Mr. H. used to work in sales for more than 20 years, most recently as a sales manager. He travelled a lot and supported key accounts. That was before a serious accident changed his professional career.
When, being on Sick leave for a long time, he returned to his previous company, everything had changed. A shrunken team, new demands and extreme pressure meant that Mr. H was unable to continue.
New perspectives
After his work contract had been mutually terminated, he went to Austria’s Labour Market Service (AMS) where his counsellor suggested⎵occupational rehabilitation. Mr. H. had never heard of this before. He hoped that this suggestion was "worth his while". Today, he says: "BBRZ and Occupational Rehabilitation are amazing!"

"Mr. H. participated intensively and was very motivated. After the Orientation stage, he attended rehabilitation and from there he went into training and then directly into his new job."

As rehabilitation counsellors at AMS, we accompany our clients before and throughout Occupational Rehabilitation. Before entering their Occupational Rehabilitation process at BBRZ, we answer our clients' questions.
During our clients' time at BBRZ, we keep in touch as part of the team consultation - these are meetings where the funding partners, BBRZ and the clients themselves sit around the table and see if the direction fits or to work out alternatives.
Despite the seriousness of his restrictions, Mr. H.'s was a 'textbook story', so to speak. You got the sense with him that he was really committed."

On the PVA consultation day, which is held regularly in the AMS's branches, Mr. H. was able to obtain information about Occupational Rehabilitation. After his Occupational Rehabilitation had been pre-funded by AMS, PVA also approved his application and started contributing.
A PVA rehabilitation counsellor accompanied Mr. H. throughout his Occupational Rehabilitation journey.
